What a wonderful winter this has been for us here at Rivendell! The weather has been very mild and so we have used much less fire wood than expected to keep warm here. I’m grateful now for such lovely springlike weather which has brought out many flowers such as daffodil, grape hyacinth, crocus, candy tuft and now some forsythia. I hope life has been pleasant for you in your part of the world. My sympathy to those in the winter fun business of ski resorts; tourism is not good anyway but no snow must be hard for you this year. All love and blessings for today; Ash Wednesday, Mardi Gras, and promotion of life on the spiritual side to us all.
Today the bee man is extracting honey from the comb in his bug extractor machines. It comes from there into large buckets and will be strained into jars to sell. Most of this honey will go back to Michigan with him to be sold as mountain honey or processed into lotions and other products for sale through ShadowlandSeeds.com
We give away small samples of the honey to some of our guests here at Rivendell.
